Family Time: The Moffitt's. Kiawah Island, SC

So I know it may seem like I have disappeared the past few weeks. I did not in fact fall off the face of the earth. I have just probably been busier than anytime I can ever remember in the past! When it rains it pours right? In the meantime I have been suffering from S.B.S or stagnant blog syndrome. Hate that! I have been so ready to share so many images but needed a moment to sit still and do it! So here goes. Meet the Moffitt clan. I have known them all pretty much my whole life. Grew up with Lindsay...there are seriously photos of us from my sixth birthday! Then I played volleyball and danced with both Lindsay and Abby as we grew older. Their Dad Dr. Moffitt has been my family doctor for as long as I can remember and Mrs. Moffitt the "team mom" ready to feed you or simply cheer you on from the sidelines. I really loved this beach session. I was so thrilled when they contacted me for the shoot and wanted to make it a part of their vacation. Like many families, once the kids got older they just hadn't had time to take any family photos. So long overdue they were ready to play! I loved how our time together was laid back, carefree, and full of laughs. Enjoy just a few of my favorites!

I Do: David & Jesse. Folly Beach, SC

Sometimes in life we are handed opportunities and moments to love unselfishly. It's not about what we get back. Some would call this "doing good" others perhaps say it's about "good karma" or just "being a good person". If I may be a little more personal than I usually am on here, I believe that in life we are handed opportunities all the time...a chance to grow. Taking from the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew it says "Let your light shine before men that they may see your good work and glorify your Father in heaven." So let me explain how this all ties together.  I will start with Jesse and David. They have dated for years and have two precious little ones together. My father called me about a week ago explaining that this young man David who worked for him some in the past is ready to get married. I said- great- when? He says- oh next weekend actually...they want to tie the knot and don't want to wait any longer and they want to make the drive down to the beach. I said great- a beach wedding- very cool. A pause on the phone...my Dad laughs...oh no Erin they want to get married in the water and I'm wondering if Matt (my husband) will marry them...and would you consider helping with just a few pictures.  You see David and Jesse had never seen the ocean...put their toes in the sand...this was a big trip for them and a really big deal. So with a little planning...we pulled it together. My sweet husband stood there with David as the waves of high tide crashed into them and Jesse wearing white walked into the water for the day she had dreamed of. It was quite magical. My Dad and Mom stood on the shore with video camera in hand, and we all stepped into to be an extended family for these two for the night. It was simply a way to give time and talent to those who needed it and be a blessing to others. I was a reminder of just how much beauty there is in serving. Enjoy some images from this water wedding...

The Family is Growing! Hayden and Harper.

Happy Monday everyone! I am busy in the office recovering from email backlog and blogging after a week of monster migraines. Ugh. If anyone has any secret formulas or tricks send those my way! So excited to share more of this sweet family with you. It is always a joy to make the trek back to Rock Hill for these guys. Their newest addition to the family- baby Harper. She is precious. Her big brother Hayden is definitely still feeling out this baby sister thing, but he is going to be great I know! I love newborn sessions and getting to watch how the siblings interact and adapt to this big change in their lives. As I was editing I couldn't help but think how cool it is that I get to give families images they will look at for a lifetime. So precious to me! Enjoy!

Hayden was not so sure about this whole "hold the baby" thing...  such an honest image...oh my goodness I love it! love love love! And this is Hayden to a tee....

travis & lindsey: charleston. SC

What a lovely and intimate affair! Just family and close friends to celebrate the union of these two. Lots of thought and lots of love went into this day. The back story on this couple- Lindsey laughs when she tells it- she actually met Travis on the job! Both are real estate agents...and they were sold on each other. For their big day they knew they wanted something small and special. With her two sister's by her side Lindsey wore her sister's gown adding to it's memories. Travis too chose family for his two best men with his Dad and brother supporting him. After the ceremony, a reception followed at Halls Chophouse downtown with delicious food, good friends and beautiful toasts. Enjoy my favorites from the day! Thanks you two for letting me be a part of it!
