I Do: Sam & Ruthie. White Oak, SC

Sam and Ruthie tied the knot on what I am convinced was one of the hottest days of the year. Oh the sun was just beaming down on us...but not a drop of rain! Despite the intense heat index, everyone involved from Mom's and Dad's to bridal party was so willing to do whatever necessary for amazing photos. Oh how I love that! My talented friend Carmen was with me sweating it out capturing Sam and Ruthie's memories. Ruthie is simply amazing. She is perhaps the most expressive person I have ever met...I mean you know when she's having fun because it shows! I really love her genuine heart and fun spirit, and oh was she excited to marry her man. Sam on the other hand is so even keel- just a strong steady man. At first I thought Sam was reserved, but the reception photos will show otherwise. He loves to have a good time! He is an outdoors beach kinda guy- Ruthie's wedding day gift was a pair of board shorts so she can go surfing with him. This couple truly made our jobs easy- their genuine love for one another and for those around them is exciting and infectious. Thanks you two for your patience waiting on these images! Enjoy your sneak peek! We'll start with a few details from the Country Club in Winnsboro where the reception was held. Such a neat old charming house!

Things I loved:

Vintage inspired turqoise bridal shoes- seriously I want a pair.

The church where the ceremony was held is the same place Ruthie's sister, parents, and grandparents all said I Do.

Hydrangeas in old vintage vases...wildflower bouquets...and cotton in the boutonniere!

Bridesmaids dresses- from J Crew...sweet...simple...and reusable!

Family Time: The Johnson's. Charleston, SC

Blogfest 2010 continues! I mean seriously I have about five in line to be posted! Of course it is Friday which means I'm on the road. Headed up to Hendersonville NC for a wedding, but currently I am sitting in a Starbucks in Columbia SC trying to get some work done :).  But today's post is all about the Johnson's! I met Adrian a few months ago at Anne and Stephen's big day up in Cedar Mountain, NC. Adrian plays in the band "The Mighty Kicks"- who by the way if you haven't seen the packed dance floor from that wedding you should seriously scroll down and look at how awesome that wedding was! So much fun! So it was great to get the phone call from Adrian and be given the chance to photograph his sweet family. We had a blast despite the heat and humidity of Charleston. This is just a quick sneak peak of some of my favorites! Enjoy!

E Session. Brad & Cory. Hendersonville, NC

Brad and Cory have been super patient waiting on this "sneak peak". I have been dying to post them pretty much since I arrived home and uploaded them to the computer. But at last- they are here! I knew when Cory and I first spoke on the phone about their wedding and engagement session describing their likes and styles that they would be a blast to work with. Anytime you mention photos, rundown factory, and cowboy boots you have my attention real fast! So much fun! Brad's Dad found our first shooting spot- an old mill in my hometown. I look at these images and feel like they all belong in a magazine. Brad and Cory were up for whatever and Mel and I never really needed to prompt them to "love on each other". They do that so well all on their own. I know that may sound silly to say, but it really means a lot when that excitement and anticipation for marriage is there. It's evident with these two. They met at Newspring in Anderson where Brad is a youth pastor. Anyone who knows Brad would say he is a natural leader, passionate about life, and loves God with all that he is. Cory really seems to be the perfect balance, she is gentle, patient, and loving, and will surely be an amazing companion in the mission field wherever that may be.  Their September wedding in Hendersonville is going to be just stunning. But for now- enjoy some of our favorites from their e-session!

Cheers,

Mel & Erin

I Do: Jason & Terri. Spartanburg, SC

I suppose the title of this post really should be Jason, Terri, and Gabe. You see you cannot tell this couple's story and know the beauty of this union without understanding where they have been. The moment I met Terri, I was blown away. She seems to have it all together...she's a teacher..a daughter...a mother...and now a wife. That's a lot of hats- but through a lot of divine intervention she wears them all quite well. Terri let me know the first time we spoke on the phone that her wedding was going to be different than most because of a little guy named Gabe. Gabe you see is her little boy, not by birth, but by adoption. Terri found out about Gabriel a few years ago, if you want to get technical, he is her nephew. Gabe needed a home, stability, and a lot of love. Terri knew what she had to do. The next few months she spent some time in courtrooms until she became "mom" to Gabe. Just 23, and now a single mom, the thoughts of meeting the man of her dreams had suddenly become a bit daunting to say the least. But that's the beauty of the internet! Yes that is where she and Jason met. This engineer from South Carolina was quickly smitten with Terri and ready to open up his heart even more to have plenty of love for Gabe too. Now a new family of three I know they are ready for whatever challenges life brings...they've all learned that there is a bigger plan for their lives and sometimes life's choices are tough but the rewards immeasurable. Enjoy the images from their beautiful July wedding in Spartanburg. I'm not going to lie, we all sweated buckets this day, but it was all worth it! Hope Spain was gorgeous and that you two enjoy the"sneak peak".

Great bride ideas we loved:

Blue suede shoes (I mean how could you go wrong!)

Old Buckets on the tables complete with moss and succulents

Bird nests, blue and gray...all looked really good together

Clutches for all of the bridesmaids off Etsy (love that site!)

The Candy Table as a memory table as well for grandparents...canisters filled with their favorite candies

Enjoy!

M & E

Melissa caught Gabe during nap time while Terri was getting ready...nothing more precious than sleeping babes.
