Growing Up: Nevaeh. Charleston, SC

Nevaeh or as Mom and Dad call her "Nev" is absolutely one of the happiest most precious little girl's I think I have ever met. Her sweet blonde girls and big smile- I told her mom Katie that I am really not sure how they tell her no! Katie is the editor of www.newbymom.com. It's an awesome resource for mom's in the lowcountry- everything from reviews on pediatricians, places to take your kids to play, wellness tips for mom, it has a little bit of everything. Katie contacted me looking for some photos of her and Nev for the site, and of course I was happy to oblige. We met out at Boone Hall for a beautiful lowcountry backdrop. These images just plain make me smile. My goal for this session was to capture honest and candid mommy daughter moments. Those moments that mom's think of when they think of spending time with their little one- but so often they don't have actual images of that time. Some of my favorites from the day are from when we pulled out the bubbles. Oh Nevaeh just about flipped cartwheels she was so excited. When I think of child-like faith and joy I will always think of these images- how bubbles can bring so much joy! Oh it is the little things in life.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Here are a few favorites:

E Session: Cameron & Mary Ashley, Charleston, SC Wedding Photographer

Mary Ashley and Cameron traveled down from Elkin, NC for their e-session. I am so excited to be a part of their beach wedding next year. They want a casual, fun and family filled affair by the ocean. We decided not to hit the beach for their e-session but instead stick with a more rustic setting. I always tell my couples we need to capture them where they are most comfortable.  This spot out in Awendaw was perfect! Barns, hay lofts, and weathered wood- oh I love it!!! Mary Ashley and Cameron have been dating since high school- can you believe that! They hit it off on a field trip to Boston and have been inseparable since. It was so much fun to capture these two as they are so just comfortable with who they are and with each other. Enjoy some of my favorites from the day!

E Session: Bryant & Jenny, Georgetown, SC Wedding Photography

So excited to share these beautiful images of this beautiful couple in a beautiful setting! I met Jenny and Bryant in Georgetown for this shoot as it was a good meeting spot between Florence (where they live) and Charleston(where I live).  Jenny was originally considering Georgetown for the wedding location, but has instead booked an awesome venue in Columbia. It's funny how these two found me. Jenny's sister (who I have no doubt is a super-star sister) was determined to find her sister the best wedding photographer out there...she scoured the internet...searching through blogs...and then found me! yay! So yes I was delighted to step up for the job of documenting this sweet couple's special day. They both were so easy to work with- and you can tell they really adore one another which is always a joy to photograph. I told Bryant you know it's love when she becomes a fan of your favorite football team- and even wears the jersey for photos. Enjoy just a handful of my favorites from their e-session!

I Do: Jamie & Brook. Charleston, SC Wedding Photographers

If you follow this blog of mine then you know narrowing down to just a handful has never been my strong suit. But for those fabulous blog stalkers out there (you know who you are) you probably don't mind a bit that I over-do all the yummy details and swoon over my fabulous couples! Well this blog post could blow the length of others out of the water because I can't help myself. So this couple happens to be special because they're family! Jamie is my new bro-in-law who married my amazing big sister Brook. So to answer your next question no I did not shoot my sister's wedding...ok ok I did from time to time pick up my camera and assist when I just couldn't help myself...but my talented team and trusted friends Melissa and Graham took on the task, and as I knew they would, they did it so so well! I could honestly make this post one big thank you letter to all of our AMAZING vendors involved. You know when you shoot weddings every weekend you really get to know the best of the best. I knew for Brook we wanted the best people we could find. I firmly believe we got them and cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about their fabulousness. From the band to the food the drinks the decor-everything was dreamy. Brook and Jamie wanted a beach wedding with a Tuscan fall feel. I think we did it! Sorting these images was honestly a blast for me- reliving a lot of this day. Oh how special. Brook looked stunning. God provided the most perfect of all cloud covers for our photos, and everything just went off without a hitch. I am so glad that I could live these moments in front of the camera for a change- watch my big sister walk down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams. Yeah it really was just perfect. Please enjoy my favorites from the big day! Oh and if you curious who a wedding photographer books for her own family here they are:

Wedding Planner: Ashley Rhodes  Handling details start to finish...truly helped the day go smoothly

Band: Another Level   From Richmond, VA and worth every penny. These guys rock my face off.

DJ- Big Time Entertainment Cameron got the party started and kept it going. Seriously cannot say enough- our guests talked about him for days!

Catering: New Dream Catering If you like yummy food you will love them! Eric specializes in Tuscan food and he and his staff were superb from start to finish!

Bar Service: Carolina Cocktails Eric took countless phone calls figuring out kegs etc- answered everything promptly and with care- truly a professional!

Rentals: Amazing Event Rentals I love working weddings with these folks. They were my first choice!

Hair Design: Salon Couture Amazing. Everyone's hair looked so fabulous. Good hairdressers set the tone for the day- I mean that- so so true.

Floral Design: Hendersonville Flower Market Pam drove all the way from my hometown- and she completely brought together the Tuscan theme. Baby Artichokes, sunflowers, just amazing.

Venue: The Citadel Beach House. Don was awesome. Ready with towels for our feet when we finished shooting on the beach!

Photobooth: Shutterbooth One of the highlights of the party- I think some people could have spent hours in there!

Brook's Dress: By Maggie Sottero. The ladies at The Bridal House of Charleston were so helpful from trying on the dress to getting alterations.
