Coming in 2012......

It's hard to imagine it's almost Christmas and soon we will be ringing in the New Year. I am about to close up shop for the holidays, but before I head for the mountains of NC I wanted to at least share a quick peek at a wedding coming soon. Look for a complete post of Rich and Ashley's Charleston wedding in the New Year!

I Do: Mike & Jen, Wrightsville Beach, NC Wedding Photography

So I am in the Big Apple today with my hubs for my surprise birthday trip! How fun is that. Oh I have the best man in the world! We worked all week to be ready to finish up and share this beautiful wedding you are about to see...so he let me steal away to the computer for a few minutes! Before you scroll down to the beautiful pics though let me share with you about these beautiful people. I felt like Jen and I had already known each other for years despite the fact we met face to face for the first time on her wedding day. I felt like an old friend there to document one of the most important days for her life. She greets me with a precious gift for our little boy...and then proceeds to show me her dress, shoes, all the little details I love. Jen's excitement for life really cannot be put into words. No I mean it. If I could have about 10% of her exuberance I would be set! "Erin isn't this amazing"..."oh my goodness I love this"...."can you think of anything more perfect!"....I mean she is precious. Mike is a lucky man because he has married one of the most fun loving encouraging women I know. The day really was perfect. Perfect weather. Perfect setting. Jen had spent a lot of time planning and thinking through all the little details...even down to the boys socks (which I l-o-v-e-d). Mike and Jen both clearly come from very loving and supportive families and have such a strong foundation in their relationship already. So awesome to see God at work in our lives. Enjoy the sneak peek at this very special day! A huge thank you to my hubby for helping me and carrying my gear all day:). Also to Sarah Bartlett for tagging along and assisting me while also pregnant! We were quite a team!

I Do: Sims & Mary Claire. Edisto Island, SC Wedding Photography

What a beautiful wedding I have for you tonight. I adore this wedding on a couple of levels. One...it is quite obviously gorgeous and the setting surreal. Two...I love the people involved. Three- what more do you need? I have known Mary Claire since our days of running track together at USC. We were roomies and friends back then and I love that life brought me full circle back into her life to document her walking down the aisle to marry a wonderful man. Sims is a good good manl. Thoughtful, attentive, and so supportive. I could not be more excited for these two and the life that is ahead for them! Enjoy the sneak peek at their beautiful Edisto Island wedding. I loved the day and loved having Melissa with Suggs Photography back by my side documenting it all. Enjoy!!!

Personal: It's a.............

So it's a boy! Last week was my birthday, and our doctors appointment to find out the sex of our little bean just happened to fall on the same day. I swear my birthday felt like I was a kid again. So much excitement...anticipation...it was awesome. My husband and I just watched in amazement as we got to see what for the first time looked like a real baby and not a kidney bean! We hadn't done an ultrasound since 8 weeks, so let me tell you 20 weeks looks like the real deal! We watched him punch and kick (while I simultaneously am feeling this at the same time). We asked the tech to not tell us the sex but instead put it in an envelope for us to open together at dinner. It was so very special. My hubby took us to one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston and together we tore open the envelope and looked inside. Let me tell you....little boys don't try to be modest at all...spread eagle obvious here it is a boy! Matt beamed. I took a minute to soak in the reality that me...one of three girls growing up with no brothers was going to be raising a little man! Wow. Yes- mildly intimidating at first...but then rather empowering. God is trusting me to be the Momma of one of his warriors. That is pretty cool. I have spent a lot of time praying for this baby. Praying for health...safety...and all the things Mommas would pray for early on. But gosh now that we know it's a boy it's like I can't stop thinking of all the things I want for him. Let him be gentle but strong...let him be like David- a man after God's own heart. I know he is going to have his Daddy to look to in all of this and I couldn't have asked for a better example. We are so blessed. Now if only we could agree on a name. That's a post for a later date. In the meantime, here are a few recent photos done for us by our good friends The Daniels. Awesome friends and photographers. We included our furry kids so you can see how they and "the bump" are growing:).  More delicious wedding images coming later today!
