Harrison & Lauren, Bluffton Wedding Photography

Lauren may have been one of my most laid back brides...ever. There I said it. It's true. Cool as a cucumber and just excited to walk down the aisle to Harrison. Their Beaufort ceremony and Bluffton reception was not only picture perfect but also just filled with beautiful moments and wonderful people. I've had the privilege now of shooting a few weddings within this circle of friends and every one of them has left me feeling blessed beyond words that I get to call what I do a job. It was a pretty special day and I think the images will show how much fun we had. The reception was graciously hosted at the home of family friends of the bride and their backyard just happened to back up to breathtaking river views accompanied by the field of my photography dreams for photos on our way in. Oh heavens. Oh and for any of you brides wondering if you can "get away with more greenery" at your reception...the answer is yes...a million yes. See for yourself- the wild greenery with gorgeous gold accents at the reception was just so beautiful! Thanks you two for trusting me and my team with your memories! Oh and huge huge thanks to Hunter and Jared for their tireless work shooting beside me in the lowcountry heat! Enjoy some of my favorites from this special day!

I Do:Alan & Jenny, Beaufort SC Wedding

Jenny and Alan planned their big day around a sentimental oak tree from Jenny's childhood. It was a sweet backyard wedding under the magestic oak with a reception to follow. I so enjoyed my time with these two and just the laid back feel of the day...we felt like family more than we did "the photographers" so thankyou. My spring intern Andrea Porter from over at Shoot the Moon Photography joined me despite having her wisdom teeth removed the day before (I know I know...her choice not mine...she's just a hard charger) and I cannot say thank you enough. Enjoy the special images from this sweet day.

I Do: Michael & Christina, Liberty SC Wedding Photography

Michael and Christina are dear friends. It was such a joy to play such an important role on their wedding day. Even behind the lens I felt I was able to share every moment with them. Editing and preparing these images to show you has brought countless smiles to my face. I think it's pretty evident that these two are just totally smitten for one another. When Michael proposed, and Christina (after saying yes!) started looking for venues in her hometown of Liberty, SC, they just couldn't seem to find "the perfect spot".  Without hesitation Christina's Dad volunteered her childhood home for the wedding...not only that he would build a gazebo in the woods for the ceremony. I think the end result was bigger and more amazing than anyone's imagination. This was one serious gazebo. It really made the wedding say that much sweeter knowing how much time, energy, and love was poured into making everything perfect. I loved how Christina chose to display her bridals that we had taken...hanging from different trees around the reception. The night ending with dancing under the gazebo and a sparkler exit. It was beautiful. Enjoy the sneak peek! Special thanks to Lindsay Alexander for shooting beside me in the heat to make some gorgeous images for these two! Thank you again Michael and Christina for sharing such a beautiful worshipful day with us!

Wedding: Mike & Christie, Winston Salem, NC Wedding Photography

This wedding was very special to me as it was a dear friend from my childhood. Christie and I would spend afternoons running around the tennis courts across from her parents beautiful Hendersonville, NC Bed and Breakfast. We were fast friends as kids and then lost touch after high school. And that brings us to this wedding....truly awesome that my job can reconnect me with past friends with a chance to share my passion for capturing life's big moments. Christie and Mike contacted me shortly after they got engaged to shoot their Old Salem NC wedding. Christie's family has a long standing connection and history with Old Salem and the Moravian Church, her ancestors were tinsmiths in this village in the colonial days. So much history in this place. Christie's petticoat she wore under her wedding dress was handmade and passed through multiple generations, along with her handkerchief given to her that day by her father. Christie has been "blog stalking" E.S.P. for a while now watching for the best colors and backdrops for photos. She did her homework well. This wedding was just stunning and these two brought so much joy to the table that was infectious.
The reception was held at her godparents home a short drive away. They have the most beautiful property complete with fields of sheep! Oh heavens was that fun! It was a beautiful backyard reception complete with BBQ and blue grass! The talented duo MelonBelly entertained guests and some of the best barbecue and smoked salmon I have ever tasted in my life was provided by Kate Clyde's Catered Creations and The Little Red Pig. Christie's good friend literally made phone calls to the State BBQ board to find out who was the best!
It was such an honor to document the memories for these two and their families. Every so often career-changing weddings and moments happen that just humble me so much. Christie's grandfather (who was behind his camera a lot this day and very clearly has a fond affection for photography) went out of his way to thank me for what I was doing. I know I can't describe this interaction adequately in words, but the quiver in his voice and the look in his eyes truly said it all, and it is a moment that in all my career I will never forget.
I cannot say enough about this day and this couple and the lifetime of happiness I know is ahead. Also a million thank you's to my assistant Andrea for helping me this day! Enjoy a sneak peek at my favorites!
