Looking Back. It's Been Three Years

It's been three years today since one of the happiest most joyful days of my life. I walked down the aisle and married the strongest, most courageous and loving man I know. I remember on our plane flight to Greece for our honeymoon the stewardess telling me that she loved her husband more now than she did 20 years ago when she married him. At the time, I had just experienced the happiest day of my life, and we were just so in love, that what she said didn't really seem possible to me. Today though, I get it. It doesn't mean that every year we became more perfect (that surely didn't happen) or that we went on more dates and pursued each other even harder than we did before we got married. We have simply through the grace of God grown in love and understanding for one another. Matt loves me when I am a wreck. Trust me that happens. He loves me when I act unlovable, and he makes me laugh when all I want to do is cry. He is laid back when I am uptight.  God knew he was the perfect match for me. I know the journey has just begun for us, and there are many twists and turns down the road ahead. But today I am celebrating where we have been. I'm celebrating that I am pretty blessed to have married a truly good man who supports my dreams and truly wants to know the deepest desires of my heart. He isn't ok with just "being married" and living in the same house and kissing each other goodnight and getting up and doing it all over again the next day. He wants to live the adventure of life beside me as we seek to love each other in the way that Christ loves us. It's a huge feat...and we don't always do it well...but it's a journey I wouldn't want to walk with anyone else.

I Do: Mitch & Lizzie, Charleston SC Wedding Photography

Holy Moses it's almost July. Really! Sheesh when the wedding season starts up it basically don't stop until November- needless to say it's a bit busy right now:). So this wedding post is way overdue. Lizzie and Mitch have been uber patient in their excitement to see them! What a beautiful day at the Citadel chapel, and a nice evening out on the SpiritLine Cruises harbour tour. Lizzie and Mitch wanted their wedding day to be a close last gathering with friends and family before they picked up and moved across the country for Mitch to start training to become a Navy Seal. The Citadel was an easy choice for their ceremony site as Mitch went to school there and they dated through the Citadel years while he was there. I said my vows in that very same chapel and it was so sweet being back there. Enjoy the sneak peek at this sweet day. Special thanks to the talented Matt Daniel for stepping in and helping me in a pinch!

Lizzie had her Dad's wedding ring sewed into her dress next to her heart so part of him could be with her walking down the aisle.

E Session: Eric & Tricia. Charleston, SC Engagement Photography

I could not have been more ecstatic to get the news that Eric had popped the question and that he and Tricia were engaged. It's funny, I used to work with Eric when I worked in television news, and technically have known him longer, but it's Tricia who I feel like I have known forever. That is one of the things I love about these two. They put everyone around them at ease, they are both genuine and thoughtful, and they're mad for one another. It's precious, and it was a ton of fun to document. Tricia and Eric met in Charleston shortly after Eric moved here to take a television anchor job. Their whole journey thus far has centered around Charleston, so even though their wedding will  be in Tricia's hometown in Michigan, they really wanted Charleston locations for their e-session. I can hardly wait for April to document what is sure to be an amazing day overflowing with love. Enjoy the sneak peek at some of my favorites!

I Do: David & Tiffany. Graham, TX Wedding Photography

A gorgeous wedding to share with you today straight from the heartland of Texas. I had such a blast flying into Dallas and hopping in my rental car to drive through the rolling hills of Graham, Texas. Oh what a beautiful part of the country! This wedding was filled with delicious details. Tiffany had clearly spent a lot of time planning up  this fun backyard soiree at her grandmother's Possum Kingdom Lake home. David and Tiffany said their vows overlooking the water. We were blessed with the most gorgeous yummy light for their couple photos. Oh I have been dying to share them! Enjoy the sneak peek at a few of my favorites! Special thanks to the oh so talented Kari Crowe for documenting this special day by my side and showing me the ropes in Texas :).
