I Do: Wayne and Kate, Charleston, SC

I'm sure you have heard the saying "When life gives you lemons make lemonade", right? I kept thinking of this as I am reliving Wayne and Kate's wedding day. You're thinking right now....oh gosh that doesn't sound good. But it's not quite to that extreme. I just know in my years of photographing weddings that some couples would absolutely think that bad weather on their wedding day was just their worst nightmare. Wayne and Kate had some epic bad weather. I mean thunder setting off car alarms during a prayer of silence in their ceremony...dark black skies...sheets of rain. Yes. It happened. But you know what was so delightful about these two...they kept smiling. Sure we had to change the game plan a little bit and we couldn't do all the outdoor shots we had dreamed of, but they were just thrilled to be surrounded by family and friends and saying "I Do". It was really sweet. So the good news to this story is we were able to get together on a beautiful sunny day for a "post wedding session" and get those couple photos they had wanted. Wayne is a Citadel grad, so of course the Summerall Chapel was the perfect spot for their ceremony, with a reception after at Alhambra Hall. This was a party. Let me tell you. The Mighty Kicks put on quite a performance. I have worked with these guys before at weddings....and yet again they had me just floored at their talent. You want a band that keeps your party going...call those guys. Wow. I think the party probably could have gone on for hours longer, but as the rain let up outside Wayne and Kate were whisked away in a gorgeous vintage car through a tunnel of sparklers. Amazing. Special thanks to Melissa with Suggs Photography for sharing her awesome talents and working beside me for this wedding. Enjoy the sneak peek!

And here is what we wish we could have gotten on the wedding day had the weather cooperated!

I Do: Bobby & J. Charleston, SC Wedding Photography

Joyful. That is how I would describe Bobby and J's day. Joyful people with thankful hearts for Jesus. It was beautiful to watch. Both Bobby and J have some amazing friends who very clearly love them and would do anything to support them. This overwhelming love just set the tone for the whole wedding day. I love watching true love play out...I don't mean magical fairy tale love...I mean real life love where sacrifice is involved and the opportunity to show and live out selfless love is welcomed. It is a beautiful thing. I love that Bobby and J have known each other for years now, but didn't actually realize that a spark existed between them until the past year. Their whirlwind time of dating and now marriage really grew out of a wonderful friendship.

Bobby and J call Atlanta, Ga home, but with Bobby's family ties to the Charleston area, it seemed like the perfect backdrop for their wedding. The lovely ladies over at Tiger Lily Weddings helped the day to go off without a hitch and the flowers were breathtaking as always. The ceremony and reception were held at the Creek Club at Ion with amazing food from Jacob's Kitchen. J dreamed up a beautiful palate of tans and fawns with yellows and pink accents and managed to bring it all together with the most perfect J Crew dresses for her ladies. The ceremony filled with stolen glances and smiles was followed with one of the most fun receptions I think I have ever been a part of thus far...oh yes and then they left via boat underneath the most beautiful night sky. I have to believe God was smiling. Special thanks to Hunter McRae for enduring the heat and helping me capture beautiful moments for these two.  Bobby and J you two are just amazing inspiring people...thanks for letting us experience such a magical day.

I Do: Cameron & Mary Ashley, Isle of Palms SC Wedding

Happy Wednesday. Two blog posts in one week- what! Yes! We are trying to get ourselves caught up in cyber world:). Cameron and Mary Ashley were so wonderful to work with, so easy going, and so thrilled to be sharing such a special day with their closest family members. A small wedding on the beach was what they had dreamed of, and the Isle of Palms was a perfect fit. These two met in high school in Elkin, NC, where they grew up. They have been together ever since. Their love for the ocean and desire for an intimate casual affair brought them South for their wedding day. The ceremony was tucked behind some sand dunes on a perfectly clear June afternoon with the sound of the waves in the distance- it was beautiful. The pace of the day was so laid back, and everyone involved just so supportive of this couple. Mary Ashley had her sisters by her side, and Cameron stood with his father, father-in-law, and brother-in-law. Cameron's adorable nieces and nephews were such a fun addition to the wedding day and I love some of the images of their honest sweet faces. Thank you both for allowing me to capture your memories!!

I Do: Ryan & Meredith. Charleston, SC Wedding Photography

We are working away to show you the rest of our fabulous weddings from June. We hopped all over the state for six different weddings that month and getting them ready to share takes a good bit of time! You will love the energy, joy, and personality of this sweet couple today. Ryan and Meredith truly are a perfect fit for one another. Both have a witty sense of humor and love to make each other laugh. I said afterwards if I could have half as much personality as Meredith in my pinky finger I would be doing so well!!! It is apparent that these two love life and live it well. It was a joy to be a part of their beautiful wedding at St. Luke's Chapel at MUSC followed by a reception out at Founders Hall. Meredith's mom really outdid herself with props and decor galore. Anything I fell in love with I found out that "Oh Patty made that"....of course...I should have known. Super mom. Period. Enjoy a sneak peek at what I have been calling my "super fun wedding" :).
