I Do: Wayne and Kate, Charleston, SC

I'm sure you have heard the saying "When life gives you lemons make lemonade", right? I kept thinking of this as I am reliving Wayne and Kate's wedding day. You're thinking right now....oh gosh that doesn't sound good. But it's not quite to that extreme. I just know in my years of photographing weddings that some couples would absolutely think that bad weather on their wedding day was just their worst nightmare. Wayne and Kate had some epic bad weather. I mean thunder setting off car alarms during a prayer of silence in their ceremony...dark black skies...sheets of rain. Yes. It happened. But you know what was so delightful about these two...they kept smiling. Sure we had to change the game plan a little bit and we couldn't do all the outdoor shots we had dreamed of, but they were just thrilled to be surrounded by family and friends and saying "I Do". It was really sweet. So the good news to this story is we were able to get together on a beautiful sunny day for a "post wedding session" and get those couple photos they had wanted. Wayne is a Citadel grad, so of course the Summerall Chapel was the perfect spot for their ceremony, with a reception after at Alhambra Hall. This was a party. Let me tell you. The Mighty Kicks put on quite a performance. I have worked with these guys before at weddings....and yet again they had me just floored at their talent. You want a band that keeps your party going...call those guys. Wow. I think the party probably could have gone on for hours longer, but as the rain let up outside Wayne and Kate were whisked away in a gorgeous vintage car through a tunnel of sparklers. Amazing. Special thanks to Melissa with Suggs Photography for sharing her awesome talents and working beside me for this wedding. Enjoy the sneak peek!

And here is what we wish we could have gotten on the wedding day had the weather cooperated!
