E-Session: James & Kara. Charleston, SC

Another fun e-session to share with you today. Meet Kara and James. They will tie the knot in May of next year at the beautiful Daniel Island Country Club. I actually met these two while shooting a good friend of theirs wedding July of 2009. Crazy how time flies- that feels like yesterday! James is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps. We had a time scheduling their session as deployment to Afghanistan was on and off the table for a few months- I know Kara is thankful to have him home a little longer. Kara is absolutely precious. All of maybe five foot two and seriously as sweet as she looks! These two were up for whatever and are oh so photogenic! I can hardly wait for the wedding next year! Enjoy some of my favorites for now.
Cheers!

I Do: Scott & Regina. Kiawah Island, SC Wedding Photographer

Never have I ever shed so many tears on a wedding day- not even on my own. I think this is a testament to Regina in a way. I had the option to "turn off" the feel button and focus solely on the task and photos at hand- but Regina just doesn't live life that way. She lives it full-out loud- and al the way- and that's what I love about her. Her love for life and people is infectious- and I would shed every tear all over again if it meant being a part of her big day. Regina and Scott met some years ago while Regina was working on her family's farm out on the West Coast. As Scott will tell you she hopped out of that pick up truck and his heart was gone. It's easy to see why.  The pair now live in San Francisco with their precious little one Iris. Regina had always dreamed of a South Carolina wedding. The last big project her mom took on before her death when Regina was younger was helping design and build the family beach home on Kiawah Island. The house holds a ton of memories and a very special place in Regina's heart for this reason.  The day was filled with close family and friends- a small ceremony complete with bare feet in the sand and a reading from The Velveteen Rabbit. The theme of bikes you will notice from the invitations to some of our fun photos after the ceremony. Scott and Regina love to spend their free time riding- they even gifted all of their guests with bike bells! Regina's dress was breathtaking- a custom designed two piece gown and so so unique. Regina's flowers were gorgeous- complete with a personalized touch- paper cranes on top. Regina told me she had always loved them- fitting as in Japanese culture they are the symbol for hope. Regina is ever hopeful. Scott seems to be a perfect balance. He is very much a realist. He is honest and very down to earth. These two were such a joy to work with. I had so much fun shooting their "first look" before the ceremony! I don't always have couples willing to give this a try- it is so very special to document the memory. Savannah and I really felt truly blessed to be a part of such an intimate day! Enjoy some of our favorites!

I Do: Peter & Amy. Pittsburgh, PA Wedding Photographers

I absolutely adore these images you are about to see. They are so fun and the scenery so so cool and I think the people are pretty darn special too! So really what's not to love? So back in the day before I discovered this fabulous career that sets my heart aglow I was a television news anchor. Crazy huh? Amy and I were co-anchors at Live 5 News in Charleston before careers and life sent us in different directions- but we stayed good friends despite the distance. Amy is now the morning anchor at ABC6 in Columbus, Ohio. She is uber talented at what she does- seriously just a natural born talent in the business-  and super comfortable in front of the camera making photographing her wedding so so fun! And then there is Peter- I automatically adore this guy because he makes Amy the happiest I have ever seen her. Peter is an actor. He is sensitive and loving with Amy...but most importantly he loves the Pittsburgh Steelers. You laugh- but I'm serious- these two are fanatic fans! They even held their rehearsal dinner at the stadium(previous post!). Such a fun filled weekend in a super cool city. Melissa and I also had a hay day with this bridal party...seriously one of the most fun groups of people we have ever worked with. It was simply a fabulous weekend documenting a very special kind of love. I have to warn you this is a rather long post as we have some wedding images...and then a fun "day after" session with Peter and Amy. Hope you swoon over them like we did! Enjoy our favorites!

Ok disclaimer here- this was totally their idea.
