I Do: Scott & Regina. Kiawah Island, SC Wedding Photographer

Never have I ever shed so many tears on a wedding day- not even on my own. I think this is a testament to Regina in a way. I had the option to "turn off" the feel button and focus solely on the task and photos at hand- but Regina just doesn't live life that way. She lives it full-out loud- and al the way- and that's what I love about her. Her love for life and people is infectious- and I would shed every tear all over again if it meant being a part of her big day. Regina and Scott met some years ago while Regina was working on her family's farm out on the West Coast. As Scott will tell you she hopped out of that pick up truck and his heart was gone. It's easy to see why.  The pair now live in San Francisco with their precious little one Iris. Regina had always dreamed of a South Carolina wedding. The last big project her mom took on before her death when Regina was younger was helping design and build the family beach home on Kiawah Island. The house holds a ton of memories and a very special place in Regina's heart for this reason.  The day was filled with close family and friends- a small ceremony complete with bare feet in the sand and a reading from The Velveteen Rabbit. The theme of bikes you will notice from the invitations to some of our fun photos after the ceremony. Scott and Regina love to spend their free time riding- they even gifted all of their guests with bike bells! Regina's dress was breathtaking- a custom designed two piece gown and so so unique. Regina's flowers were gorgeous- complete with a personalized touch- paper cranes on top. Regina told me she had always loved them- fitting as in Japanese culture they are the symbol for hope. Regina is ever hopeful. Scott seems to be a perfect balance. He is very much a realist. He is honest and very down to earth. These two were such a joy to work with. I had so much fun shooting their "first look" before the ceremony! I don't always have couples willing to give this a try- it is so very special to document the memory. Savannah and I really felt truly blessed to be a part of such an intimate day! Enjoy some of our favorites!
