I Do: D'Wayne & Lindsay, Folly Beach SC Wedding

Folly Beach has been an unpredictable beast for me this wedding season. D'Wayne and Lindsay's wedding day was no exception. Wind gusts that I suspect may have been tropical storm force were ripping up and down the beach and weather radar showed looming blocks of red and purple storm clouds headed our way. Not exactly what anyone had in mind! After surveying the options, D'Wayne and Lindsay made the call to stick with the beach ceremony they had been planning. I am so very glad they did. We didn't see a drop of rain! These images have an authentic joy to them that no bad weather could steal. Hair flying, smiles, laughs, and memories to last a lifetime. This small private family ceremony was perfect in every way for these two and it was a joy to document. I am thankful the weather cooperated for us to do a few beach photos the next mornings so that I could still offer some non-hurricane images! Special thanks to my assistant Emma for all of her help this day. Enjoy some of my favorites from this very special day.

I Do: Phillip & Kelsey, Folly Beach SC Wedding

Phillip and Kelsey had planned a small gathering beside the ocean for their fall wedding on Folly Beach. Mother nature unfortunately had other plans that weekend with a southern nor'easter ripping through. It was cold with sideways rain and wind that quite honestly looked like a hurricane. I am not sure I have ever seen anything quite like it! To say it didn't go as planned may be an understatement. Instead of a beach front wedding their ceremony was in the dining room of the beach house. But oh these two were the sunshine on the dreariest of days...and they carried the light needed to make the day magical. I said to my assistant many times that day "these two are focusing on all the right things and not allowing the things going wrong to damper their day." It was a beautiful thing. Kelsey and I quickly made a rain plan as soon as we could see what was coming our way with the weather. We shot their first look and some images with the bridal party the day before the wedding on the beach complete with umbrellas and rain coats and a rockstar bridal party (they were serious champs)!!! We were able to shoot a sun-filled session a few days post their actual wedding with the most magical sunset and cotton candy skies! Perhaps none of it went quite as planned but I have a really good feeling that these two will weather the storms of life together just fine. Enjoy some of my favorites.

I Do: Clayton & Samantha, Charleston SC Wedding

I have had many people ask me lately..."Do you still shoot weddings?". The answer is YES! But life has been quite busy for us and I have not been shooting as much or blogging. One day the kids will be older and life will feel slower but I don't believe I will regret slowing down work to cherish this time with my little family. But oh my heart still beats for weddings. I love my job. I had two amazing second shooters the day of Samantha and Clay's wedding and they captured some fun candids of me working and what I love is that I am smiling in every single one and not because I knew anyone was shooting me! My job is just that fun! What you will see in this sneak peek from Sam and Clay's day however is that smiling and fun and joy is infectious in their presence. Their first look alone was worthy of an entire blog post ha! Truly. Getting to witness them pray together and then turn and face each other with wonder joy and excitement for their day ahead together is something I will never tire of...ever. I told this sweet couple at the end of the day that it was an honor to know them and an honor to be trusted with their day and I meant every word. These two love God, love each other and love people well. Their day was a celebration of His goodness and I am so thankful for the front row seat. Enjoy some of my favorites. Special thanks to Stan Foxworthy and Sarah at Live Wilder Studios for working so hard to help me capture their day!

I Do: Morgan & Thomas Hendersonville Wedding Photography

We tasted the first drop of fall the weekend that Morgan and Thomas tied the knot in the mountains of Hendersonville North Carolina. The sun was warm the air was cool and the setting could not have been more breathtaking. I caught myself for days afterwards singing "Country roads take me home to the place I belong" ...it was good to be home for their special day. Morgan and Thomas met at Hendersonville High School years ago while running cross country. They quickly became best friends until one day finally acknowledging that their feelings for each other ran much deeper.

2020 was of course a doozy of a year to plan a wedding. Although their day was much smaller than planned, these two made the best of it! The setting they selected for their ceremony and reception was unbelievable. Jeter Mountain Farms is a photographers paradise! I cannot wait to share this beautiful day with you filled with beautiful people and beautiful moments. Thomas and Morgan you two are just lovely and your day was a reflection of the joy you are filled with and how you freely share it with others. Also, a very special thanks to my assistant Emma who worked so hard to help me this day! Enjoy the preview!
