Engagement: Ruthie and Jeff

As I am driving with my husband to meet Ruthie and Jeff for their engagement session on Hilton Head Island, I look out the window to see ominous rain clouds in the distance. I think to myself we will be okay I've rarely had weather keep me from shooting. And yes...I spoke too soon. I arrived at Ruthie's house and the sky outside looked like the end of days. Within minutes of walking inside the front door, the sky just opened up. We are talking buckets and buckets of rain...it looked like we were in the middle of monsoon season! So we wait it out a bit, and just as we are about to call it a day and reschedule for the next morning, blue sky peeks through the storm clouds in the distance. Within about 10 minutes the weather was perfect! Ruthie and Jeff were great sports about the weather and even obliged my requests to sit on the wet ground...you guys are champs.  We did some shots at Ruthie's parents home which was absolutely stunning and then finished our day at the beach where Jeff initially proposed. I can't wait for the big day in October! Thanks you two!

Jeff is so gentle and sweet with Ruthie...I love watching couples in love interact.

The beach where Jeff proposed...as you can tell we had fun!

These two are actually some of my favorites. I feel like I am looking at a magazine ad with these two people in love having fun....not sure what they are selling- but I'm buying it!

Who doesn't love South Carolina beaches....love love love this one.

Ahhhhh sunset. One of the most romantic times of the day.

Sweet Sam

Jetton Park on Lake Norman was the perfect place for Sam's 18 month shoot. I had a blast! Considering we were out shooting for a few hours Sam was so patient and happy to just play and do whatever. As long as we had "Sam bites" handy and some of his "dig digs"...aka yogurt bites and toys- we were all set! These are some of my favorites from the day...as you can tell it was hard for me to narrow them down! Thanks Harper family!

Sam and Koa....Sam likes giving Koa kisses

 Is your heart melting yet????

How about now???

Love...love...love....look at those baby blues!

Playing with Dad...one of my favorites.

Karen and Conor

Karen and Conor exchanged their vows underneath one of Charleston's old beautiful oak trees inside the garden of the Confederate Home. The Confederate Home and College was built back in 1845...so much history in this place! The ceremony was filled with beautiful details. I absolutely loved the flowers lining the aisle. The reception to follow at Rushland Pavillion was gorgeous with every southern food imaginable! The DJ's were a lot of fun, the views breathtaking, and the couple so in love. Congratulations you two! Enjoy your travels over the next few weeks.

Karen and Conor chose to see each other before the ceremony....a few of their first sweet moments.

Then I told the guys they could have some fun....so naturally they choose to trip the groom....

Karen was so calm and relaxed.... very much in the moment.

My favorite!!!

Love love love these details! The programs were beautifully handmade, and the glass jars filled with flowers fit perfectly with the Confederate Home's southern charm.

The dock at Rushland Pavillion... what a beautiful view!

Coozies! Can you believe Karen had been saving these from other weddings for about two years?! They were all different. I thought it was neat how she took little pieces of friends' weddings and included them in her own.

Newborn Marley

What a joy to shoot Marley's newborn photos. For being just a few weeks old she is such an expressive child!!!! I continue to look back at these photos and cannot believe some of the different looks and faces she gave me- so thoughtful, tender, and inquisitive. Enjoy some of sweet Marley's first photos!

Such a content expression in her Daddy's arms
