Engagement: William & Nicole: Charleston, SC

William and Nicole will tie the knot in what is sure to be a gorgeous lowcountry wedding next May. But who wants to wait until then for photos!! I met them at sunrise on a very quiet end of Folly Beach for their engagement session. We finished up downtown near the Battery. William and Nicole have been dating ever since college at the University of South Carolina. Nicole is now a news reporter at Channel 5 News in Charleston, and William is just about to finish pharmacy school. They are such a fun couple, and had me laughing a lot of the session. Enjoy some of my favorites for the day. It was hard to narrow it down!

The sunrise was beautiful! I love these romantic shots.

I love these trees on the beach- they make for such a great backdrop!  love love love this one... Probably one of my favorites from the day.  Grafitti and sun flare....what more do you need?  William took the initiative on this one....this is his leprechaun leap!  They are just so darn photogenic and I love it.  Save the Date!!! Can't wait you two!

Olivia Turns One: Tega Cay, SC

I packed my running shoes for my one year shoot with Olivia...as I am quite used to chasing little ones for the perfect picture! Olivia was curious to see everything around her. I met her along with mom and dad at Windjammer Park in Tega Cay for their session. It was cloudy and looked like it would rain at any moment, but by the end of their shoot the sun was peeping through the clouds making for a gorgeous evening. I love documenting little ones as they grow- it truly is a privilege. Enjoy some of my favorites from Olivia's first year session!

I'll start with one of my favorites of Olivia...she has very thoughtful expressions. We didn't finish with a ton of "smiley" photos, but I have to say these more serious expressive ones are always my favorites!      The first "baby" of the family....and the new baby!  I love this shot of Olivia. She liked making this face!    Olivia has the hand eye coordination thing down pat!  What a sweet family! I love this one of mom and dad with the little ones below!

I Do: David & Kate: Beaufort, SC

David and Kate's wedding day may have started with showers, but the clouds cleared for an absolutely breathtaking day. From the touching ceremony filled with thoughtful details, to the reception that easily could have lasted a few more hours, it was just a wonderful experience. I know my team and I felt privileged to be a part of it. Kate and David said their vows inside The Old Sheldon Church Ruins in Yemassee, SC. My hubby is a history buff and he was just beside himself looking at this old church. It is perhaps one of the oldest churches still standing. It was built in 1745 and later burned during the Revolutionary war. The church was rebuilt in 1826 and then burned again during the Civil war. What still stands years later is a breathtaking site. What a great place to say "I do!" The reception followed in Beaufort at the Saltus River Grill. What an amazing party with beautiful details. It was an easy "work" day for my team because David and Kate are vibrant, care free, and so much fun! They were a joy to photograph. It's wonderful when your bride and groom are clearly best friends. Enjoy some of my favorites from the day!

Kate's bridesmaids dresses were so gorgeous! They looked amazing with their hydrangeas. I love this monogram sash on the flowers with her maiden initials.

Momma Beth and Hannah- Kate's sister and maid of honor.

I really had to limit myself shooting with this red trolley....I love the color red...a wedding day....a beautiful bride and bridesmaids...yeah- I could have been here all day!

The flowers were soooo very beautiful. Emily Wynn Wildes did an amazing job.

I love this shot of Kate by the water. Her dress was so beautiful, and her veil was worn by her mother on her wedding day.

David looked like his breath had just been taken away when Kate walked down the aisle.

David and Kate had a foot washing as part of their ceremony. It was such a special symbol of serving one another in marriage.

One of my favorite shots of the day!

 love love love....

This is right outside the tent where their reception was held- what a great location!

Definitely a favorite of the day. I think they look like they belong in a magazine.

The reception site was gorgeous! Kate's wedding planner Ashley Rhodes had it all together.

Their first dance! It started out slow then the band cranked it up to "She's a Bad Mamma Jamma" ....love it.

These guys were amazing! Sandy "B" and the Allstars had the floor packed all night!

So much fun! Thanks you two for sharing your day!!!

Engagement: Jason and Sara

I have known Sara since high school, and could not have been more excited to find out she and Jason were finally engaged! Of course I was even more excited to hear that they wanted me to shoot their Tennessee wedding! Sara and Jason are a ton of fun to be around. They just have such a good time with one another...which made my job really easy. We did their engagement session at Copperhead Island (great name I know!) over on Lake Wylie.  Of course their pup Neyland was a part of the shoot...he is definitely a big part of the family. Photographing Sara and Jason is a bit of a challenge as Jason is 6'6" and then some, and Sara is just barely 5 feet tall! I think it's precious though. I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites from the day...here is my best attempt. Enjoy!

 Neyland loves the camera

Sara is so photogenic...yes her skin always looks this perfect.

I love this shot....one of my favorites of the day.

 Lake Wylie sunset...stunning.

Of course we had to do a Tennessee shot for these fans. Sara was a cheerleader at UT.

I think this shot is precious. We figured why hide the height difference?

We shot until the sun went down....the last shot of the day!

Can't wait until the big day next spring!!!
